The Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic – section

The constituents elect Senators from among candidates nominated by various political parties or from among independent candidates. Candidates acquiring more than 50% of the votes cast shall be elected Senator. If none of the candidates gets this quorum, a second round of election is held between the two candidates with the highest numbers of votes. The second round goes to that candidate who gets the simple majority of the votes.
